Frequently Asked Questions

- What is a Precision Reminiscence Tool? We do not create generic coloring books. We engineer Precision Reminiscence Tools. These custom books transform your specific family photos into high-contrast line art. This design bridges the Recognition Gap, providing a zero-distraction activity that reduces anxiety and confusion for individuals facing cognitive decline.
- What is the “People, Places, and Things” framework? We organize memories into three clinical pillars to provide cognitive scaffolding. “The People” uses a Subject Spotlight technique to remove background noise and isolate faces. “The Places” uses Atmospheric Sketches to retain architectural details of childhood homes or meaningful locations. “The Things” converts milestone objects, like a first car or wedding ring, into tactile memory triggers.
- Are there hidden fees for shipping or taxes? No. Lineage Lines Studio enforces a flat-rate, all-inclusive pricing model. The retail price you selectโ$39 for the Keepsake Bundle, $69 for the Legacy Bundle, and $129 for the Story Bundleโis the final price. We completely absorb all local sales taxes, digital processing fees, and domestic shipping costs.
- Why does the process take 3 to 5 business days? We adhere strictly to the Law of Candor. We refuse to use instant, automated AI filters that distort facial features or create visual hallucinations. Every image undergoes a mandatory 3 to 5-day human-in-the-loop manual review. Our team ensures strict identity preservation so your loved one recognizes a familiar face, not a distorted guess.
- What type of photos work best? Submit the sharpest, highest-resolution version you have. Choose photos with a single clear subject. Natural lighting and uncluttered backgrounds produce the best clean, thick outlines. Avoid extreme profiles, faces covered by hands, heavy blur, or photos altered by dramatic digital beauty filters.
- Production requires a minimum image resolution of 150 DPI/PPI. Lineage Lines Studio reserves the sole right to reject source photographs featuring severe motion blur, extreme low-light shadowing, or pixelation that prevents accurate anatomical or structural tracing. In the event of a rejection, the client will be notified via email to provide an alternative file, pausing standard fulfillment timelines until a viable file is received.
- What happens if my uploaded photo is too fuzzy? We perform a manual Inbound Quality Gate review on every file. We apply a best-effort digital restoration to sharpen blurred faces and repair cracks. If a photo completely fails our quality review, we do not cancel your project. We initiate the Replacement Loop. You will receive a direct email from studio@lineagelines.com with a secure link to upload a clearer image.
- We do offer a Best Effort Photo Restoration service which can repair most damage, sharpening vintage images for high-contrast line-art conversion.
- Why do you use spiral binding instead of standard book staples? We strictly prohibit metal staples and saddle-stitch binding to comply with clinical safety standards. These methods pose a severe laceration risk for seniors with thinning skin. Safe spiral or coil binding prevents skin tears and allows the book to lay perfectly flat on a table or wheelchair tray.
- Why is there no clear plastic cover on the book? Clear plastic covers create blinding light glare under standard facility fluorescent lighting. This “hot spot” of light disorients users with cataracts or macular degeneration. We strictly use a heavy matte cardstock finish for the cover and 80lb white matte paper for the interior pages. This eliminates glare and prevents marker ink from bleeding through the pages.
- What is the Family Story Anchor page? Included in our Legacy and Story bundles, the Family Story Anchor is a synthesized introductory history page. We hard-code this text in 24pt bold sans-serif print with a flush-left, ragged-right alignment to prevent reading fatigue. This anchor grounds the user in recognizable factsโsuch as names, years, and key locationsโbefore the motor-sensory activity begins.
- Can I review my order status? Yes. Your project moves through our custom dashboard stages. We keep you informed as your family archives move from the Ingestion Gate, through the manual quality review, and into final API print fulfillment.
